To consult an object or a zone :
Prerequisite: only the layers “organisations and cultural facilities” and “roads” are concerned here. These two layers must be online in order to be consulted.

To consult a domain, a theme or a major facility :
Choose from the list of organisations or cultural facilities in the pop-up menu.



The elements of the selected layer are displayed on the screen as well as its corresponding legend.
With the selection tool , point on the object or on the zone to select more than one object (see Defining a zone).
A table of allotted data containing the selected object(s) will appear.

Centering on a cultural facility :
In the table of allotted data, click on the line that indicates the cultural facility of your choice.
The on-screen viewer will centre around the selected object on a scale of 1/1008 th . Immediately, a green dot surrounded in red will appear on top of the selected object.

Internet Link :
In the table, on the designated line of the cultural facility of your choice, in the Web column, click on the Site link, if there is one, to access the web site of the cultural facility.

Electronic Mail :
In the table, on the designated line of the cultural facility of your choice, in the Mail column, click on the Mail link, if there is one, to initiate your electronic mailing service.

To consult the “roads” layer :
This database concerns only the roads situated in the “Lille Métropole Communauté Urbaine” area.
The “roads” layer is online from a scale of 1/7000 th. At this scale, the icons change (see Indicators of an online layer)

You can use the selection tool to point to a road or define a zone.
With the selection tool , point to a road or a zone to select more than one road (see Defining a zone).
A table containing the name of the road(s) appears. Once the “road” legend is overlayed, the road(s)become red on the viewer. In any other case, the allotted table will display directly.

Centering on a Road :
In the allotted table, click on the line of the table that designates a road .
The viewer centres around the selected road. Immediately, the leg axis of the road will appear in red in the viewer.

The pop-up menu :
Once the layers “facilities and cultural premises” and “roads” are online, and once an area is defined or an object selected, a pop-up menu will appear . The figure inside the brackets indicates the number of selected objects. To consult the allotted table, you must choose one of the two databases.  

Defining a selection zone :
Define a rectangular zone of the image by maintaining the right click button and by moving the mouse on a rectangular zone of the image. A table containing the allotted data will appear if only one layer is active.


Zooming in :
Select the Zoom in tool
Click on the image you want to enlarge. Each click will enlarge the scale by two. The new view will centre according to the defined point.
The maximum enlargement is limited to a scale of 1/ 998 th.


Enlarging an image using the mouse :
Select the Zoom in tool
Slide the pointer onto the part of the image you want to enlarge.


Zooming out :
Select the Zoom out tool
Click on the centre of the zone of the image you want to reduce. Each click reduces the scale by two.

Navigating in a visual display zone :

First possibility :
Select the Move tool
Point towards the map.
While keeping the tool active, slide the map towards a new slot.

Second possibility :
At any given moment, you can move around the viewer by right clicking on the mouse.


Consultation tool containing a list of reference areas of the cultural atlas :

  To obtain a view on a defined area :
Click one of the four reference areas :
 Full map
 Lille Conurbation
 Northern mining area
  Wallonia
 Flanders


Consultation tool containing a list of agencies or cultural facilities according to field, themes and major facilities :

  To obtain a view on a theme or domain :
Click among predefined list of nine different domains, six themes and major facilities.

Bookmark :


For the name of a cultural facility or the name of a road to appear in the defined zone at the bottom of the screen when the mouse is on the icon of a cultural facility or on a road , you must make sure that :
The logo symbolising the bookmark has been entered.
The “roads” legend or “facilities group” legend are overlaid.


Search Engine :

To use the search engine you must select :
Either a group of facilities.
Or a “road” layer.
The search is done in a scope containing the names of all the facilities contained in the whole database.

To start a search :
Activate a layer by clicking on the legend. A white frame appears.

Start the search by writing a word or a name in the zone situated next to the icon.
Click on the logo. The results of the search will appear in the form of a table.

First possibility
Read the information as it is in the table.

Second possibility
Locate an facility or a road; In the table, click on the name of the selected facility

Third possibility
Gain access to the web sites of some facilities ; In the table, click on the line of the cultural facility of your choice, in the Web column click on the Site link, if there is one, to access the Web Site of the cultural facility.

Four possibility
To send an e-mail ; in the table, on the line of the cultural facility of your choice, in the Mail column click on the Mail link, if there is one, to initiate your electronic mailing service.

Ex: if you were to type in “bleu”, the search engine will find 4 results for the “Grand Bleu” facility, theatre, dance hall, National Drama Centre and music hall, as well as the puppet theatre “Castelet Bleu”, the “France Bleu” radio station and the “Orange Bleu” gallery.

 The «Frame»   

The localisation view :

  On the general map, a red frame symbolises the active view on the screen. You have the possibility of choosing a new view by doing a “click and slide” manoeuvre on the general map depending on the desired view.

 

The legend :

  The legend contains two types of data:
Geographical data.
Thematic data

Geographical Data

   "Communes"
The “Communes” data is online as soon as a choice of reference area is made (Lille conglomeration, “Bassin Minier”, Wallonia, Flanders).
"Transports"
The “Transports” data is online from a scale of 1/15000 th onwards, the names correspond to main railway stations, metro stations and tramway stops.
"Roads"
The “roads” layer is online from a scale of 1/7000 th onwards (see Activating the "roads" layer).

Indicators of an online layer :
This icon indicates that the layer is not online.
This icon indicates that the data is online but doesn’t exist in the current view.

Deactivating an online layer :
Click on the key . The layer, which is still online, is now invisible.

Reactivating an online layer :
Click on the key . The layer, which is still online, is now visible again.

Thematic data

  The data concerning facilities and cultural premises is selected using consultation tool (see: Consultation tool).
